Product Description

In tanks where fluid movement — agitation, pump turbulence, vehicle motion, or fill surge — causes the liquid surface to slosh, a standard switch will chase the wave and trigger repeatedly. The 10-101-SS solves this with the addition of the 10-700-SS Slosh Shield, a polypropylene sleeve that surrounds the switch and dampens surface turbulence before it reaches the float magnet. The result is a clean, stable switching signal even in continuously agitated environments.

The base architecture is identical to the 10-101: 1/4" NPT bulkhead fitting, inside-out installation requiring internal tank access. The set ships with four components — 10-782 magnetic reed switch, 10-700-CS straight connector, 10-700-SS slosh shield, and 10-702-BH bulkhead fitting — all in polypropylene. Precision nipple (10-715) ordered separately in 1" increments from 1" to 70".

Minimum CD: 3.0" (76.2 mm). NL = LL − 1.89" (LL − 48.0 mm).

If the application involves a sealed or molded vessel with consistent surface agitation — commercial laundry machines, mobile fluid reservoirs, wash system sumps running continuous circulation — the SS variant is the correct specification. For calm-surface applications, the 10-101 base model is sufficient.

What Makes the 10-101-SS-PP the Right Choice

Slosh shield for agitated environments
The 10-700-SS slosh shield dampens surface turbulence from agitation, pump action, or vehicle motion before it reaches the float magnet.
1/4″ NPT bulkhead — inside-out installation
Same base architecture as the 10-101. Installs through a 1/4″ NPT hole from inside out.
ERECTA SWITCH modular architecture
Every component is independently field-replaceable. Switches, connectors, fittings, and spacers service individually — no need to replace the entire assembly.
Polypropylene construction
Handles water, water-based coolants, soaps, detergents, and dilute acid/alkaline solutions. For solvents or stronger chemicals, see Acetal or Kynar PVDF variants.
10-715 Precision Nipple system
Nipple ordered separately in 1″ increments from 1″ to 70″. Sets the liquid level at which the switch actuates. One nipple per switch assembly.
RoHS compliant · Made in USA
Every Series 10 switch manufactured in Paradise, California. RoHS compliant throughout. No minimum order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About This Product

What is the difference between a float level switch and a liquid level sensor?

A float level switch like the 10-101-SS-PP is a point-level device: a float rides the liquid and actuates a magnetic reed switch at a set height, giving a simple on/off signal — no power, no firmware, no calibration. "Sensors" usually means continuous measurement (ultrasonic, radar, capacitive). ERECTA SWITCH targets reliable discrete-point control.

What are the typical applications for the 10-101-SS-PP?

The 10-101-SS-PP is used for pump start/stop control, high-level overflow protection, low-level dry-run protection, and tank or reservoir level alarms in OEM equipment. The modular ERECTA SWITCH system is built into laundry, HVAC, water-treatment, hydraulic, and chemical-handling machinery.

What liquid chemistries is the 10-101-SS-PP compatible with?

Choose the material to match the media: Polypropylene (PP) for general aqueous, acids, and bases; Acetal (AC/Delrin) for solvents, fuels, and hydrocarbons; Kynar PVDF (KR) for aggressive or harsh chemicals. Every ERECTA SWITCH model is offered in all three materials.

Is the 10-101-SS-PP a point-level or continuous-level device?

The 10-101-SS-PP is point-level — it provides a discrete on/off signal at a set height. For multiple switch points, use a multi-level extended-stem set (2-, 3-, or 4-level) instead of a single continuous sensor.

What mounting options are available for the 10-101-SS-PP?

ERECTA SWITCH offers vertical top-mount, bulkhead, and extended-stem configurations, plus side-mounted single-point models. The mount style is part of the model number — select the configuration that matches your tank geometry.

How is the actuation level set on the 10-101-SS-PP, and how accurate is it?

Point detection is repeatable and mechanical. The trip height on the 10-101-SS-PP is set by the 10-715 Precision Nipple, ordered separately in 1-inch increments (1″–70″), so you place the switch point exactly where the application needs it.
