What is the ERECTA SWITCH modular system?

ERECTA SWITCH is Compac Engineering's building-block sensor platform. Every Series 10 configuration starts with the same 10-782 switching element. Mounting hardware, housing types, stem length, and turbulence protection are added as modular components — allowing design engineers to create virtually unlimited sensor configurations from standard stock parts without custom fabrication.

What materials are Series 10 level switches available in?

All Series 10 level switches are available in three chemically-resistant thermoplastics: Polypropylene (PP) for water, soaps, and light chemicals; Acetal (AC) for petroleum-based fluids including gasoline, diesel, and hydraulic oil; and PVDF Kynar (KR) for aggressive acids, caustics, oxidizers, and high-purity process fluids.

Can I reverse the switch action in the field?

Yes. The float is field-reversible on all Series 10 switches. The product ships in normally closed (NC) configuration — legend toward retaining ring, switch opens on rise. To reverse to normally open (NO), remove the float and retaining ring, flip the float so magnets face up, and reassemble. No tools required, no separate part numbers for different contact forms.

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no minimum order. Series 10 products are available in 1-pack and 10-pack configurations with tiered pricing. Volume OEM pricing is available for quantities above published tiers — contact us for a quote.

How do multi-level extended stem sets work?

Extended stem sets use 10-715 precision nipples to space multiple 10-782 switching elements along a single vertical stem. The nipple length determines the switching depth for each level. Two, three, and four-level configurations are available. Precision nipples are sold separately — one required per level — allowing the engineer to set exact switching points for their application.

Q: How does an ERECTA SWITCH float level switch work?

Series 10 level switches use a magnet embedded in a hollow plastic float that travels along a fixed stem in response to rising or falling liquid level. As the float nears the hermetically sealed reed switch in the stem, the magnetic field actuates the switch contacts without any physical contact. This non-contact actuation eliminates wear and provides reliable operation across 100 million+ cycles.
