Product Description

The 10-787-PP is a side-mounted level switch configured for tanks with a 1/4" NPT side-wall bung. A 10-702-BH polypropylene bulkhead fitting converts the base 10-785-PP's 1/8" NPT mount to 1/4" NPT, matching the most common side-wall thread in industrial tank fabrication. The unicellular split-float clamps the horizontally oriented 10-782-PP stem and travels in a vertical slot as liquid rises and falls — field-reversible NO/NC via float orientation. Polypropylene wetted construction handles water, mild acids, caustics, detergents, and most aqueous solutions to 180°F (82°C) at 100 PSI (6.9 bar). Ships with 1/4" jam nut and 24" pigtail leads.

Key Features

Engineered specifications and field-service advantages — not marketing language.

1/4" NPT side-wall mount via 10-702-BH bulkhead

Matches standard industrial tank-wall threading without custom fabrication or thread adapters specified on a separate BOM line.

Unicellular split-float

Clamps the 10-782 stem; magnet orientation selects open-on-rise or close-on-rise at installation.

Sealed 10-782-PP reed switch

Hermetically sealed reed contacts rated 20 VA, 0.5A @ 120 VAC, 1.0A @ 24 VDC.

Polypropylene wetted parts

Compatible with water, mild acids/caustics, detergents, plating rinses, and aqueous process fluids.

ERECTA SWITCH modularity

The 10-702-BH bulkhead, split float, and stem are individually stocked — service without custom manufacturing.

Applications

Specific installation scenarios that match the 10-787-PP configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About This Product

What is the difference between a float level switch and a liquid level sensor?

A float level switch like the 10-787 is a point-level device: a float rides the liquid and actuates a magnetic reed switch at a set height, giving a simple on/off signal — no power, no firmware, no calibration. "Sensors" usually means continuous measurement (ultrasonic, radar, capacitive). ERECTA SWITCH targets reliable discrete-point control.

What are the typical applications for the 10-787?

The 10-787 is used for pump start/stop control, high-level overflow protection, low-level dry-run protection, and tank or reservoir level alarms in OEM equipment. The modular ERECTA SWITCH system is built into laundry, HVAC, water-treatment, hydraulic, and chemical-handling machinery.

What liquid chemistries is the 10-787 compatible with?

Choose the material to match the media: Polypropylene (PP) for general aqueous, acids, and bases; Acetal (AC/Delrin) for solvents, fuels, and hydrocarbons; Kynar PVDF (KR) for aggressive or harsh chemicals. Every ERECTA SWITCH model is offered in all three materials.

Is the 10-787 a point-level or continuous-level device?

The 10-787 is point-level — it provides a discrete on/off signal at a set height. For multiple switch points, use a multi-level extended-stem set (2-, 3-, or 4-level) instead of a single continuous sensor.

What mounting options are available for the 10-787?

ERECTA SWITCH offers vertical top-mount, bulkhead, and extended-stem configurations, plus side-mounted single-point models. The mount style is part of the model number — select the configuration that matches your tank geometry.

How is the actuation level set on the 10-787, and how accurate is it?

Point detection is repeatable and mechanical. The trip height on the 10-787 is set by the 10-715 Precision Nipple, ordered separately in 1-inch increments (1″–70″), so you place the switch point exactly where the application needs it.
