Level detection for totes, bulk storage and dosing tanks in polypropylene, Acetal and PVDF Kynar — matched to the chemistry rather than to a catalogue.
Chemical service is a materials problem before it is a sensing problem. The switch body, the float and the seal all sit in the fluid, and the failure that matters is not the switch missing a level — it is the pump running dry, or the tank overflowing, because the sensor degraded first.
A chemical metering system OEM needs to detect when a bulk chemical tote is nearly empty so the metering pump shuts off before running dry. The tote has a flat side wall — a 10-788-KR mounts through a drilled hole near the bottom. PVDF Kynar handles the aggressive chemistry (sodium hypochlorite for water treatment). The pump-dry condition is the failure mode the customer is designing against — running a metering pump dry destroys the diaphragm.
A water treatment equipment builder needs a level switch in a sulfuric acid bulk storage tank to trigger the replenishment pump. PVDF Kynar resists the acid chemistry. The sealed adapter on the 10-105 provides redundant O-ring moisture protection critical in corrosive vapor environments. The relay housing accepts an optional solid state relay for direct pump control.
Every ERECTA SWITCH configuration is available in three materials. For this application the usual specification is PVDF Kynar (KR).
Send the tank, the fluid and the switch point. We will confirm the configuration and the material.
